Translation and Interpreting (T&I) Day
We are very happy to invite you to participate in the Translation & Interpreting (T&I) Day, which is part of the congress programme of the 35th International Systemic Functional Congress (ISFC), Macquarie University, Sydney (website: http://minerva.ling.mq.edu.au/isfc/).
As you know, the theme of this years congress is Voices around the World. In keeping with this theme, we recognize that T&I plays a pivotal role in the development of communication between speakers of different languages around world. Therefore, we have specifically designated one day (23 July 2008) as a forum to bring together leading researchers, educators, practitioners and students to discuss current issues and research projects in the field of T&I. The theme of the congress means that there will be a considerable number of contributions to T & I studies and that participants in the Congress will come from all major regions around the world, bringing a rich range of languages to the discussion, including Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and English, to name a few.
