The Second Circular for Workshop 2000
Workshop 2000: Language, Text and Culture in the Global Context
Date: Thursday and Friday, 3-4 February 2000
Venue: Education Semina Room 408 in the Faculty of Education Building, the University of Sydney
The theme of the workshop is 'Language, Text and Culture in the Global Context'. Workshop leaders will demonstrate stimulating ways of analyzing linguistic structures and/or cultures in different perspectives, by using plain expressions. This is a great opportunity to get to know different linguistic and/or textual and/or cultural theories.
Each workshop lasts 50 minutes or 90 minutes, during which the audience will be given quizzes or worksheets or discussion topics. You can experience new theories and new ways of analysis, without falling into sleep (I hope).
If you would like to attend the workshop, please reply back to me by e-mail by 15 January 2000, with the expression 'ATTENDING' with the subject 'Workshop 2000'. On Day 2 we will have workshop dinner. If you would like to come to the dinner, then rely by typing 'ATTENDING + DINNER'.
Some other details. Registration is free, but we would like to ask for your donation. Lunch will not be provided, but coffee and biscuits are free.
If you have any inquiries, call Keizo on 02-9351-6766 or 0411 320 972.
The next circular will be distributed around 10 January, 2000.
